Biography
I am a computational linguist and instructional designer, with a focus on online and blended learning environments. Since the beginning of my studies I have been interested in investigating and exploring the field where the disciplines of Education and Computer Science converge. Educational technology is at the intersection of the two science domains and, therefore, the focal point of my academic interests. I have worked in the industry as a computational linguist, in projects like the digital thesaurus for Greek, and in the public sector as an elementary school teacher for thirteen years, the last five of which I was seconded to Canada, to support Greek language learning in the diaspora. I have been part of the SNF Center for six years, creating content for online Greek language courses, mediating the Ελληνομάθεια exams and providing Greek language teaching support. Over the past few years, I served as the academic coordinator for Staellinika, responsible for the instructional design of the digital learning environment.
