Aaron Garcia was a member of the SMPPS Lab from 2011 to 2020. His research interests relate to a number of epistemological issues in psychology; in particular, conceptual issues which fall under to the rubric of construct validity theory. In 2014-2015, i collaboration with Dr. Slaney, he completed a project examining the role of rhetoric in construct validation discourse in an attempt to clarify why construct validation researchers appear, at times, to conflate their theoretical concepts with the phenomena designated by those concepts.
